Based on the doorstep of the Lake District, members of Barrow Long Distance Swimming Club are able to enjoy some of the best open water swimming in the country – all year round for some.
Many swimmers join the numerous organised open water swimming events such as Chill Swims, Epic Events, Great North Swim, Big Welsh Swim as well as BLDSA. These are well organised events not directly linked to the club and are not all limited to the lake district.
More adventurous souls may wish to try their hand at sea swimming challenges with a number of club members having completed solo English Channel swims.
